6th grade Science:

Monday - Today we will review how to use the ReadOutLoud software program to continue organizing notes on water pollution.

HW - None

Tuesday - Today I will have a sub because I have a Science committee meeting.

Today 6th graders will continue to work on their water pollution webquest as they use ReadOutLoud to organize the important parts of what they are reading.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today I showed students the next step in their water pollution research. So far they highlighted many important passages in their reading. Once done with the reading they will go back through their highlighted passages and write notes of their own about what they read. (Just like us old timers did in school but using ReadOutLoud makes it more efficient and saves paper!)

HW - None

Thursday - Today students began practicing how to use the iPads and Netbooks they will be using to work in Science this year.

HW - None

Friday - Today I will let students continue to play with the iPads and Netbooks. I hope that they enjoy them as I show them how to use these tools to learn and do work.

Then 8th graders will complete an assessment probe on where oil comes from (this is just to see what they know).

HW - None

Wednesday - Today I handed back student's reflection papers with my comments and questions. Students took a little time to respond to my questions and finish reflecting.

Then we discussed and looked up where oil comes from.
