6th grade Science:

Monday - 6th graders will take a mid-year reflection survey today. Then students will record their data on our class google spreadsheet.

This week we will also test some creek samples for fecal coliform and e-coli bacteria.

Then students will begin to research their water quality job using the following organizer.

8th grade Science:

Monday - Today both classes will be continuing class discussions on the assessments they took last week: what is an organism, elodea plant cell and a paramecium, and pieces of living things. We will be using Twitter in class for the discussion so that everyone can be involved at the same time.

HW - Please turn in the field trip permission slip for Wednesday's field trip.

Tuesday - Today we will conduct a cheek cell lab.

Wednesday - Today we will visit HJ Carroll Park to observe a natural setting. Students will take their notebooks to write about what they see, hear, smell and maybe even touch (we won't be tasting anything). Students will also record any questions they come up with.

Thursday - Today 2nd period will set the fish traps. Then we will review our notes from yesterday. Students began to write about some questions that came up in class on their blog.

5th period will review their notes from yesterday first then work on their questions, which they will answer on their blogs.

Friday - Today 2nd period will retrieve the fish traps and identify and count the fish we catch. 2nd period will use their class time to finish their blog from yesterday.

5th period will work on a ribbon of life assignment.
