6th grade Science:

Monday - President's Day - No School!

HW - None

Tuesday to Friday - This week students will finish graphing their data. They should each have a graph of the 10 days we collected data on our creek and they should also graph their water quality parameter going back nine years.

Students will also continue researching their water quality parameters using the following organizer.

Then we can start choosing pictures from the ones their class photographer took. Students will be putting their pictures, notes, and graphs on their blogs.

HW - None

8th grade Science:

Monday - President's Day - No School!

HW - None

Tuesday to Friday - This week students will be planning and executing their bacteria lab. Once student teams write their hypothesis and their procedure they will get their materials, including the petri dish with prepared agar and Q-tips, to begin swiping to see how many different types of bacteria are in our school. We will incubate the petri dishes and check them to record observations for a couple of days. Then students will write their lab conclusions.

This Thursday and Friday period 2 will be setting the fish traps and identifying and counting the fish.

While waiting for the bacteria to grow, and after making observations and recording what they see in their petri dishes, students teams can begin planning their next project.

HW - None
