Week 3, 4/11 to 4/15

1st per - 7:45am to 8:37am
2nd per - 8:41am to 9:33am
3rd per - 9:37am to 10:29am
Eagle Time - 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - 11:36am to 12:28pm
5th per - 12:32pm to 1:24pm
6th per - 1:28pm to 2:20pm

6th grade Science:

Monday - Today we will begin a new unit on the study of energy. We will begin the a lesson on batteries and students will be constructing their own battery.

HW - None

Tuesday - Today we will continue lesson 2. Student teams should be building batteries today using zinc and copper strips in a copper sulfate solution.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today we will finish lesson 2 by reflecting on what we learned by building the battery yesterday. Then students will share what they learned by completing the lesson 2 blog.

HW - None

Thursday - Today we will finish lesson 2 and start lesson 3 where students will learn and investigate energy and rechargeable batteries.

HW - None

Friday - Today students will do the lesson 3 lab to collect data on whether a light bulb or a motor uses more energy.

HW - None

 

8th grade Science:

Monday - Today students will answer a question about what plants are (two teams are left to present today in 5th period).

Then students will work on their plants project blog.

HW - None

Tuesday - Today students will answer a question about seeds (one team still left to present today in 5th period).

Then students will continue to work on their plants project blog.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today I will give students time to work on their plants project blog. Then we will begin to study snails.

HW - None

Thursday - Today students will meet the snails. Then they begin planning experiments to learn more about land snails.

HW - None

Friday - Today student teams chose a question and designed experiments to learn something about their snails. Teams had to write their variables, problem, hypothesis, procedure, and make their data table.

HW - None
