6th grade Science:

Monday - Note: This week 1st period will be on track unlike previous week where they were one day behind what was written here.

Today we will continue to read each other's work, check the class social network to respond to questions and/or add questions of their own, as well as work on the water cycle activity.

HW - None

Tuesday - Today we will have a guest. A North Olympic Salmon Coalition (NOSC) restoration steward will visit our classes bringing benthic macroinvertebrates from our creek. Students will identify the different bugs they find in the water samples to generate a biological integrity score for our creek. They did that at Cispus at Yellowjacket Creek so we will compare Chimacum Creek to Yellowjacket Creek.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today we are going to continue looking at, identifying and recording the benthic macros we find in the creek samples that NOSC brought in yesterday.

We have an assembly today so are on assembly schedule.

HW - None

Thursday - There is no school today. Parent/student/Teacher conferences are from 8:00 – 11:30, 1:00 – 4:00 and 5:30 – 7:30. Just come in at your convenience during the times posted to the commons where all the teachers will be waiting to meet with you.

8th grade Science:

Monday - Today half of each class will continue with day two of the ImmuneAttack game while the other half continues with Day 2 of the alcohol's effects on the human body NSquad game.

HW - Please turn in the Research Participation sheet if you haven't already.

Tuesday - Students need to continue to work on their blog assignment, commenting on each other's work, and responding and/or asking questions on the class social network so they can generate questions about the five substances and the environments for further study. We will work on designing experiments to answer their questions.

HW - None

Wednesday - Everyone needs to take the FAS/Rice University survey today. For those who did't get to finish it in class please take it at home.

Students are still wrapping up their work from yesterday. It's slow going. Few teams are actually thinking of a follow up experiment. For those teams they need to write up their procedure today so that I can approve it. (4th per didn't get to planning their lab today, the survey took most of the period.)

We have an assembly today so are on assembly schedule.
