6th grade Science:

Monday - Note: I have 6th grade Science 1st, 5th, and 6th periods. The way that is working out is that I start the day's lesson with 5th and 6th period so that means 1st period will usually be one day behind. I wanted to mention this so parents don't get upset if their 1st period child seems one day behind. Sorry for the confusion.

Today teams will look over the pictures they took of our creek's benthic macroinvertebrates to make sure they identified the accurately. Then they will score our creek to compare our creek's score with Yellow Jacket Creek's score.

Students will also continue to read each other's work, check the class social network to respond to questions and/or add questions of their own. (Parents, if you want to register to our class social networking site to see what your child is doing there please shoot me an email saying who you are and who your child is because if I get requests to join our site from names I don't recognize, and I see 134 students a day so I don't remember all your names, I will deny the request! So once you shoot me that email go ahead and register and I'll add you.)

HW - None

Tuesday - Today students will put their benthic macroinvertebrate pictures on their blogs and explain what we did and what we got as a score for our creek.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today students will finish putting their benthic macro photos on their blogs so they can finish writing their benthic macro blogs.

HW - None

Thursday - Students still need more time to finish their benthic macro blogs.

HW - None

Friday - Same as yesterday.

HW - None, unless you need to catch up.

8th grade Science:

Monday - Today those who played ImmuneAttack will play the NSquad game and vice versa.

(3rd Period didn't get to play today due to the lock down so they will play next Monday and the Monday after that.)

HW - None, unless you haven't turned in the Research Participation sheet.

Tuesday - Today teams need to finish planning their experiments so they can write up their procedure for me to approve. Teams also need to make their data table so they will be ready to collect data tomorrow.

So teams need:

  1. Their problem question.
  2. Their hypothesis.
  3. Their procedure including drawing of experimental setup and materials list as well as step-by-step plan.
  4. Data table ready to collect data.

HW - Bring whatever materials you need to conduct your experiment.

Wednesday - Today teams who bring their materials can begin their lab and start collecting data. Students will collect data as they continue to read each other's blog work and check the class social network to respond to questions and/or add questions of their own.

HW - None

Thursday - Today teams will collect their next day of data. Most teams are going to collect data 10 to 20 minutes after setting up their experiments, 24 hours later, then 48 hours later. Then students will continue to read each other's blog work and check the class social network to respond to questions and/or add questions of their own.

HW - None

Friday - Today teams collected their last data set. Then they wrote their conclusions to share what they learned.

HW - None
