6th grade Science:

Monday - Today students will finish sharing their tree planting experiences and thank those who made it possible on their blogs. They need to add pictures to their blogs today.

Then all students will continue working on learning their water quality jobs using the following websites.

Wednesday - Students are working hard to complete their water quality job notes so that we can start graphing our data.

Thursday - Today 1st period completed a safe schools survey about bullying and harassment at our school.

Students are working hard to complete their water quality job notes so that we can start graphing our data. Today I am going to work with the nitrates and ammonia folk to help them understand how eutrophication works.

Friday - Today is the deadline for the water quality job notes so that we can start graphing our data on Monday.

HW - If you are not done with your water quality job notes try to get them done before the super bowl.

8th grade Science:

Monday - Today we will finish going over the ribbon of life answers so that students can provide peer feedback to each other and read the feedback they got.

Everyone else will be working on finishing the how cells divide through mitosis activity and the mitosis blog. Some will be just beginning working on this while there are some who are almost done if not already done completely.

Tuesday - We will be having our January Awards Assembly today.

Today 3rd period started planning their bacteria growth lab while 4th period finished up their mitosis blogs.

Wednesday - Today 3rd period will setup their petri dishes in the incubator to see what bacteria will grow. Then they will begin writing their cells unit self-assessment with the standards we've been studying.

Fourth period will begin setting up their bacteria labs.

Thursday - Third period will record their first observations to see what bacteria grew in their samples. Then they will begin their cells self assessment using the state standards.

Fourth period will finish setting up their lab so they can swab and prepare their petri dishes for incubation.

HW - None

Friday - Today third period will take their last observations and write their conclusions. They will share their conclusions on a bacteria in our school blog.

Fourth period will take their first observations after incubating for 24 hours. I'm not sure if I will leave the bacteria in the incubators over the weekend so 4th period may be writing their conclusions too.
