6th grade Science:

Monday - Note: I have 6th grade Science 1st, 5th, and 6th periods. The way that is working out is that I start the day's lesson with 5th and 6th period so that means 1st period will usually be one day behind. I wanted to mention that so that parents don't get upset if their 1st period child seems one day behind! Sorry for the confusion.

Today we will finish Energy, Machines, and Motion lesson 4, collecting data on different charging times.

The Friday before we left for spring break students were finishing the reflection questions on page 29 so today we will go over their answers.

Then we will work on our blogging challenge and commenting.

Tuesday - Today I will give students more time to finish the six reflection questions on page 29 so that we can go over the answers.

Wednesday - Today students will complete an activity on energy and going green. Students will learn some things about energy before we go into learning about forces.

HW - None

Thursday - Today we will start lesson 5 on forces. Inquiry 5.1 is on the elastic force of a rubber band.

HW - None

Friday - Today students will collect their data for inquiry 5.1. Students will be measuring the elastic force of a rubber band in Newtons (N).

8th grade Science:

Monday - The week before spring break teams were supposed to finish their plant science fair projects presentations so that they could present today. Teams were supposed to review their parts today but since no teams are ready to present we will spend today getting presentations ready. I want to focus on team experiment conclusions today.

HW - None, unless you need to finish your presentation at home.

Tuesday - Today teams will finish preparing their presentations.

HW - None, unless you need to finish your presentation at home.

Wednesday - Teams are still working on finishing their presentations. Third period got to a great assembly by author and film maker Eric Delabarre so they didn't get to work on their presentations today.

HW - None, unless you need to finish your presentation at home.

Thursday - Presentations were supposed to start today but teams who had digital (computer) presentations couldn't do anything because the Internet was down most of the day. In 4th period one team who didn't use the Internet was able to do their presentation today!
