Science Articles
A. González

Topic: To be determined by students (Click here to see the rubric for this essay)
Concept: Varies

Directions: Students will choose from a variety of Earth Science topics. Questions that students have been curious about or that students want to learn about will be raised. Students will research their topics fully to answer their questions completely. The articles students write will be published in our Online Science Magazine.

An effective writer may consider the following points:

  • describe the problem and what questions were raised
  • describe the research process
  • summarize the information you found
  • answer the question(s) you raised
  • draw conclusions
  • offer new questions for further research

For your writing task, you will have the opportunity to follow all of the steps of the writing process: prewriting, writing a first draft, revising and editing your first draft, and writing a final draft.
