Homework/Daily Activities
Week 5, 10/6 to 10/10
(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

First progress reports will be handed out this week! For those students receiving a C or less, a copy will be mailed home later this week as well. A parent survey is also included, please ask your child for it. Thank you.

6th Grade Science

Monday - Today Mr. González will give an overview/intro to the water quality study. Students will be introduced to the different jobs available. Selection will take place tomorrow.

HW - Choose your top three or four jobs and bring sheet back to Mr. González tomorrow.

Tuesday - Today students will select jobs for the water quality study.

HW - None

Wednesday - Audrey A. Miles Cherney from the North Olypmic Salmon Coalition (NOSC) will join us today to teach our students about benthic macroinvertebrate sampling and about Chimacum Creek.

HW - Remind your parents, if they are coming, of their day and time.

Thursday (Block Schedule for Langston and Meacham) - Audrey will be taking today's benthic macroinvertebrate groups to collect their samples. The film crews will go to record footage of the activity. The rest of the class will be working on research. We will continue to take notes on Ch. 12, section 1 using the outline format.

8th Grade Computer Graphics

Plan for this week:
This week we will finish our study of Fireworks MX and begin to study Freehand MX. The goal is to get through lessons 1 in Freehand after finishing lesson 7 Fireworks.

On Wednesday and Thursday we all sat in a circle to set norms for the rest of the quarter. Everyone's input counted and everyone participated wonderfully except for many's short attention spans. We agreed to skip Freehand altogether. The students did some re-grouping, literally, and decided to spend from Friday until 10/22 working on their personal websites. After that, for the remainder of the quarter, we will be learning Flash.
