Timeline
Days 1 and 2 - Identify the
topics.
- Several questions will be raised
to get the mental juices flowing.
- Begin asking little and big
questions about the topics to decide what to
research.
- Refine the little and big
questions so that students have a manageable topic and
so they will know what data will need to be
collected.
- Decide what information needs to
be collected to answer the big question.
- Establish criteria so that the
article will be well written.
- Divide the labor.
Days 2 and 3 - Editorial,
Publishing, Art, and Marketing/Advertising jobs
posted.
- Students may apply for any of the
aforementioned jobs knowing that they are also
responsible for investigating and reporting on a topic
of their choice.
- The class looks over applications
and jobs are assigned in each of the departments with
a department head.
- Students will refine their big
questions and decide what their article will look
like.
Days 3 to 5 - Students will begin
to storyboard their article website ideas.
- Share with class through a
PowerPoint Presentation to get more ideas and
feedback.
- Modify storyboard, then share with
class again.
Day 6 - Work on designing a rubric
for the completed website and the
articles/webpages.
Days 6 to 11 - Begin researching.

Days 12 to 18 - Design
websites.
- Art
department gets to work developing the graphics for
our magazine.
- Editorial department begins
editing all the articles throughout the entire
process.
- Publishing department creates the
online layout of the online magazine.
- Marketing/Advertising generates
ideas for getting our magazine to the
public.
