Plan and Timeline: After Cispus, we begin to study fresh water and learn how to use the lab equipment. With the help of North Olympic Salmon Coalition (NOSC), our students will have the opportunity this year, 2003-2004, to collect actual data that will be used with a Benthic Index of Biological Integrity to measure the health of Chimacum Creek near the school. Our window for this will close by mid-October (Oct 15 to be exact) so students will be trained right after Cispus so that they may begin by the second week of October. This year, students will be trained on Wednesday, Oct 8, and students will collect samples on Thursday and Friday, Oct 9 and 10. See the jobs students will choose from. |
