Feedback with Google Forms

I’ve used Google Forms to create surveys for my students. I’ve gotten some great feedback from students at the end of course. It was easy to create and I got a spreadsheet with all their feedback. I could read through all the student responses.

I never used Google Forms for quizzes but finally decided to give it a try. I created short answer questions and let students take the quiz. What I wasn’t clear on was how to give them feedback. I’ve found websites showing how you can have your Google Form score student entries. Some spreadsheet code makes it possible but you have to create a multiple choice quiz and I didn’t do that.

I took the spreadsheet with student responses and downloaded it to Excel because I find it much easier to work with Excel than with Google Spreadsheets. It’s just not as easy to maneuver as using Excel. One thing I took away from the sites that show how to make Google Forms quizzes that score themselves is to take the quiz myself with the correct answers. With that here’s a video of what I have come up with that allows me to give each student individual feedback:

Once I’ve copied and pasted each student’s individual feedback responses I still need a way to get that feedback response to students. The easy way is to print each sheet out and hand it to students. That is so tempting but I’d really like to go paperless on this one. I have a 1:1 environment so I would rather use that to have students check their quizzes. I have Easy Grade Pro where I can post progress reports online but I can only paste so much information. I might try and see if I can do it that way because each student has his and her own account with his and her own password. I also thought of just putting the spreadsheet online but making a link for each student will be time consuming and it won’t be secure.

What else can I do?
