6th Grade Science

Monday - Today we reviewed the SCAN-n-RUN reading strategy.

HW - None

Tuesday - In preparation for our Water Quality Study, we must work on lab procedures and lab safety, as well as learn the scientific method that is the focus of this year.

HW - Sign and return the lab safety contract tomorrow (make sure the Informed Consent Agreement is signed and returned as well).

Wednesday - Fundrasier assembly today so we are on assembly schedule.

We will learn how to take notes using an outline format. I will also observe students as they SCAN-n-RUN through Ch 12, Sections 1 and 3.

HW - None

Thursday (Block Schedule for Langston and Meacham) - Today we will complete some scientific method activities.

Defining Elements of a Scientific Method,
Analyzing Elements of a Scientific Method,
Performing an Experiment, and
Critical Thinking and Applications.
(I can't have these handouts here for you to download and print because they aren't mine, they are from the book.)

If all of the above is completed, students will continue taking notes using an outline format for Ch 12.

HW - Finish the Critical Thinking and Applications handout if you did not finish in class. Please remember to keep it in your binder, in the science section, so that you can find it again on Monday.
