HW/Daily Activities

1st per - Exploratory - 7:45am to 8:37am
1st Block (Periods 2 & 3) - Science and/or Social Studies - 8:41am to 10:29am
Eagle Time: 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - Band/Choir - 11:36am to 12:28pm
2nd Block (Periods 5 & 6) - Science and/or Social Studies - 12:32pm to 2:20pm

Social Studies:

Tuesday - Students will be working on their Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest.
Today we will have a storyteller. Chief Roy Wilson of the Cowlitz tribe will visit today to share his tribe's history and stories of Mt. Saint Helens and Mt. Rainier with our 6th graders. Some of the stories we told at Cispus were right from Chief Wilson's book. Ms. Langston's homeroom class and my homeroom class will be with Chief Wilson during 3rd period, roughly 9:30am to 10:29am.
HW - None
Thursday - Students will be working on their Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest. Those teams who have collected enough notes will begin putting together their PowerPoint presentation.
Students also viewed an Inca video (the afternoon group may not have had enough time to view the whole movie due to a fire drill).
Today we will have a Veteran's Day assembly.
I will have a sub again today as I attend another science training. Today's training is on Best Practices in Science Teaching.
HW - None

Future plans: We will work on our Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest this week.

Science:

Monday - Today students will continue to work on their Volcanology Project.
As students finish writing their individual paragraphs (volcano types, lava types, eruptions types, Mt Saint Helens, and Mt Rainier), most teams will be ready to start working on the introduction and conclusion paragraphs of their letter to the Governor. The teams will write the introduction and conclusion paragraphs together and then put the individual paragraphs together into the final letter.
HW - None
Wednesday - Early Release, students will be dismissed at 11:20am. Today students will continue to work on their Volcanology Project.
Student teams should be working on their final draft of the letter today if not done already.
The deadline to finish this letter will be Monday, Nov 15!
We will also work on a modified version of my Earth Movement Project.
We will have Second Step during 5th period.
HW - Catch up if you've fallen behind on your part of the volcano letter to the Governor. The deadline is Monday, Nov 15!
Friday - Veteran's Day - No School Today!
HW - Same as Wednesday.

Future plans: We will continue to work on our Volcanology Letter to the Governor as well as our Earth Movement Project.
