Social Studies:

Tuesday - Students will be working on their Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest.

I will be instructing students on how to put their PowerPoint presentation together and how to present it properly. Today most groups should begin putting their PowerPoint presentations together.

HW - Show your parents your updated progress reports! If you get them to sign it, I will give you $20 class dollars tomorrow! (And I will return the progress report, too.)

Thursday - Students will continue to work on their Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest. Most teams have already started creating their PowerPoint presentations.

I also introduced our Latin America Project!

Because Market Day, Dec 15, is quickly approaching, we will postpone the Aztec, Maya, and Inca PowerPoints until January. We will finish them then for sure!

HW - None

Future plans: We will work on our Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest this week. The goal is to complete the PowerPoint presentations this week and start presenting next week.

Science:

Monday - Today is the due date for Volcanology Letter to the Governor! Students will have today to finish their team letters. Then I will collect each student's notes, and rough draft paragraph along with the team letter.

HW - If I didn't get your team letter today, it's late. Don't wait too long because it's losing points but get it done and turn it in ASAP! If I didn't get your notes or your first draft, just turn those in this week (they don't lose points for being late).

Wednesday - Today I will do a plate tectonics presentation to guide students through the Earth Movement Project that we are working on together.

We will have Second Step during 5th period.

HW - None

Friday - We will continue our study of Plate Tectonics. We saw the Bill Nye episode on Earthquakes because in it Bill explains plate tectonics. We also started to work on some plate tectonic vocabulary by making our own illustrated dictionaries.

My morning class will get to go to the book fair this morning for 15 to 20 minutes.

In the afternoon we will have rocket launching demonstration! John Ludwig from 4-H came and blasted off some of his magnificent rockets. They went really high and the day was gorgeous! Thanks John and thank you Mr. Morris for hooking us up! (I'll post pictures soon.)

HW - None

Future plans: We will continue to work on our Volcanology Letter to the Governor as well as our Earth Movement Project. Once we are done with those two projects we will begin to work on Energy, Machines, and Motion!
