6th grade Science:

Monday - Today we will start Energy, Machines, and Motion (EMM) lesson 3 on Rechargeable Batteries.

HW - None, unless you have any missing work (check the previous five weeks). There is an Energy, Machines, and Motion website for students but I'm not assigning anything from there just yet.

Tuesday - Today a representative of NOSC will teach our students about the history of Chimacum Creek and what their role is in restoring the creek and how we, the 6th grade, can help. This is our community service learning project.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today we will work on EMM lesson 3. Our periods are really short today because it's an Early Release day so we'll see how far we get. I think we can finish the lesson 3 lab.

HW - None

Thursday - Today students from Ms. Langston's class (morning block) and Mr. Olafson's class (afternoon block) will begin collecting benthic macroinvertebrate samples for NOSC.

The rest of us will be busy working on our regular science lesson, which will be finishing the lesson 3 lab.

HW - None

Friday - Today students from Mr. Meacham's class (morning block) and one student from each of the three homeroom classes (afternoon block) will begin collecting benthic macroinvertebrate samples for NOSC.

The rest of us will be busy working on our regular science lesson, which will be correcting our lesson 3 lab.

HW - None

7th grade Science:

Monday - Students will get time today to finish The Heat is On! WebQuest.

HW - If anyone doesn't finish their WebQuest today, the remaining questions are to be done for homework. If your child doesn't have Internet access at home there is the library here at school, the homework help at the Jefferson County library near Chimacum Creek Primary, or my room at lunch.

Tuesday - We will go over the answers to The Heat is On! WebQuest today.

Then we will take a conduction, convection and radiation quiz.

HW - See Monday.

Wednesday - Today is an Early Release and I will be showing a video on energy transfers.

HW - See Monday.

Thursday - Today we will take a conduction, convection and radiation quiz.

Then we will begin to look at measurement and why precise measurement is so important in Earth Science. Today's lab will have students coming up with different ways to measure volume.

HW - See Monday.

Friday - Today will finish and share our results from yesterday's lab on measurement.

HW - See Monday.

8th grade Computers:

Monday - This week we're going to start putting together everything we've learned so far to plan our websites. Students will create websites to showcase what they've created in this class. Students will learn how to use Macromedia Dreamweaver to create their websites.

HW - Work on your blogging! I handed out a website requirements sheet to students today but several of them left them behind in class (with no names on them) so I'm putting a link here to it so that parents and students can download it when they find that they've forgotten what they need to get a good grade on their websites.

Tuesday - Students are still working on their Flash animations and their bloggin.

HW - See Monday.

Wednesday - Same as yesterday. I think I will give students the rest of this week to finish their Flash animations (for a final grade) and work on their blogs. We have kids from Manitoba, Canada, Neptune, New Jersey, and New Zealand leaving comments on our blogs so we're reading their blogs and leaving comments.

HW - See Monday.

Thursday - Wrap up Flash. Finish any podcasts or vodcasts.

HW - See Monday.

Friday - Wrap up Flash. Finish any podcasts or vodcasts. Monday we'll start to storyboard our websites.

HW - See Monday.

Email me if you have any questions or concerns.
