6th grade Science:

Monday - Today we will have a complete review of EMM lesson 6. Student volunteers shared their data today as we recalled what we did. I then gave students a little bit of time to work on the questions from pages 51 and 53.
HW - None if you are all caught up. If you're still flunking or have work to make-up please turn it in by or before Wednesday, December 6.
Tuesday - Today we will correct the EMM lesson 6 questions on pages 51 and 53 (this is where kids can fix their answers and get an A if they weren't socializing instead of working).
HW - Same as Monday.
Wednesday - Today students will answer some questions regarding the EMM lesson 6 reading on pages 54 to 61.
For those students who didn't get to finish answering all the questions, we will revisit these when we do the lesson 7 reading.
Last day of the 1st Trimester.
HW - None
Thursday - Today is the first day of the 2nd Trimester.
Today we are going to start EMM lesson 7 beginning on page 62. This lab will be the first lab where 6th graders will learn how to use the Inquiry Boards to plan, execute, and write-up the entire lab using the scientific process. This will take us a while but it's well worth it.
HW - None
Friday - We will continue to work on EMM lesson 7. Today we will write up the hypothesis and the step-by-step procedure using the Inquiry Boards.
HW - None

7th grade Science:

Monday - Today we will continue to work on our crayon density lab. Students will be making their data table and graphing their results (using their Inquiry Boards).
HW - None if you are all caught up. If you're still flunking or have work to make-up please turn it in by or before Wednesday, December 6.
Tuesday - Today students will be making their conclusions (using their Inquiry Boards), and then sharing their results.
HW - Same as Monday.
Wednesday - Today we will finish sharing. Students are using a document camera to share their raw data tables, graphs, and conclusions.
Then we will work on our next lab, which entails determining the density of basalt, granite, and peridotite samples of rock.
Last day of the 1st Trimester.
HW - None
Thursday - Today is the first day of the 2nd Trimester.
Some teams need to finish yesterday's lab, which really means starting over because we put all the rocks away without any way to determine which rocks belonged to which groups! My blunder.
Once all teams have densities for the granite, basalt, and peridotite samples we will share and find a class average for those densities.
HW - None
Friday - Today we will start our Sink or Float webquest.
HW - None

8th grade Computers:

Monday - Work on your final website! (Using Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, and the Storyboard you created.)
I will be helping students upload their completed websites today so they can see each other's work on help score each other's work.
HW - Students need to continue blogging for a grade. Click here to download the website requirements.

Thursday - Today is the first day of the 2nd Trimester.
Today I will introduce the class and give students handouts for parents to read.
Handouts: Class introduction with syllabus and permission to publish, and Class blog information. (Students also got a How to Blog info letter.)
We spent the rest of the class time looking at our Class Blog and reading some of last trimester's student's blogs as well as visiting the blogs of our blog pals from Manitoba, Canada, Neptune, New Jersey, and from New Zealand!
HW - Get your Permission to Publish form signed and your Blog perimssion. Also read and sign your Blogger's Contract.
Friday - I will begin collecting blogging contracts and permission to publish sheets today.
Then we will begin with our first Fireworks lesson!
HW - None if you got all your paperwork signed and turned in today.
