Week 14, 3/19 to 3/23

1st per -7:35am to 8:37am
2nd per- 8:41am to 9:33am
3rd per - 9:37am to 10:29am
Eagle Time: 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - 11:36am to 12:28pm
5th per - 12:32pm to 1:24pm
6th per - 1:28pm to 2:20pm

6th grade Science:

Monday - Students will continue to work on their Salmon Life Cycle Webquest.

HW - None

Tuesday - Students will continue to work on their Salmon Life Cycle Webquest.

I was done grading 4th period's old notebooks so I gave them back today. They were instructed to put those notebooks into their Eagle Time portfolios for student-led conferences.

HW - None

Wednesday - Students will finish their Salmon Life Cycle Webquest today and I will show them how to save their Inspiration mind maps as pictures to put on their Water Quality Websites in May.

HW - None

Thursday - Today I passed out updated progress reports. Students are still finishing their notes and Inspiration mind maps.

Then we will begin to work on taking notes from our Prentice Hall Earth Science textbook, Ch 12 on Fresh Water Resources.

HW - None

Friday - Today we are practicing how to use the SCAN-n-RUN reading strategy using our science textbook Ch 12, section 1, page 394.

HW - None

 

7th grade Science:

Monday - We looked at samples of student's shape floating quiz so that students could see what their answers looked like. We also discussed which were the best answers.

Then students continued to take notes on Ch 6, sections 1 and 2 in Outline Format.

HW - None

Tuesday - Students continued to take notes on Ch 6, sections 1 and 2 in Outline Format.

I passed back the floating shapes quizzes today and I also gave students back their old notebooks. Students were instructed to take samples of their 1st and 2nd trimester work to put in their Eagle Time portfolios for student-led conferences next week. Students could put their entire old notebook into their portfolios to show parents samples of their science writings.

HW - None

Wednesday - We are getting close to finishing Ch 6, sections 1 and 2. Today is the last day to work on these notes. I have made myself available at lunch and after school for students to finish their notes if they fell behind because the volcano notes are their first 3rd trimester grades.

HW - None

Thursday - Today I passed out updated progress reports. Then we began an activity comparing earthquake P and S wave times.

HW - None

Friday - Today we will finish our earthquake P and S wave activity. Then students will get to work on the next section of their Earth Movement project.

HW - Finish your Speed of Earthquake Waves activity (too many students were socializing and not working so I had to assign it for homework so we could correct it and move on).

 

 

 

8th grade Computers:

Monday to Thursday - Work on your website. Completed webs will be posted here when done (by the end of the Trimester). I will be uploading student websites this week and will add their links soon.

Thursday I passed out updated progress reports with student's final grades.

HW - Blog, Storyboard Scoring Rubric, Storyboard Scoring Sheet, Website Scoring Rubric, Website Scoring Sheet

7/8 Latin:

Friday - Intro to class and Course Syllabus. I began with Lectio I today.

HW - Get a notebook just for Latin since this class will give you a lot of vocabulary.
