Week 4, 4/23 to 4/27

(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

Daily Schedule for Monday and Friday (See WASL Schedule for Tu-Th)
1st per -7:35am to 8:37am
2nd per- 8:41am to 9:33am
3rd per - 9:37am to 10:29am
Eagle Time: 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - 11:36am to 12:28pm
5th per - 12:32pm to 1:24pm
6th per - 1:28pm to 2:20pm

6th grade Science:

Monday - All field trip permission slips were due last week but I will accept tomorrow's tree planting permission slips today.

Ms. Langston's class will be going on their Hood Canal field trip Wednesday.

Today all classes will work on their Ch 12 textbook notes on drinking water and fresh water pollution in outline format.

HW - Wear comfortable clothes that you can get dirty tomorrow and dress for the weather.

Tuesday - We are on WASL testing schedule today, tomorrow and Thursday.

I will only see Period 1 (Langston's) today and they will continue to work on their notes and prepare for tomorrow's field trip.

All classes will be going to plant trees today after lunch.

HW - Ms. Langston's class needs to bring a sack lunch tomorrow and dress for the weather.

Wednesday - Ms. Langston's class will be gone all day on their Hood Canal field trip.

I don't see Mr. Meacham's class so it will be Mr. Olafson's class who will be working on their notes today.

HW - None

Thursday - I will see Ms. Langston's and Mr. Meacham's classes today, not Mr. Olafson's, and Langston and Meacham will be working on their notes. As they finish their notes we will start to transition to using the web to learn their jobs (dissolved oxygen, pH, nitrates, etc).

HW - None

Friday - We may be ready to start the next phase of this project, the web notes. Students will use the following websites to learn what their jobs mean and they will a new way to take notes, the Cornell Note-taking Method.

HW - None

 

7th grade Science:

Monday - Today I will check student's notebooks to see how their Plate Tectonics notes are coming. I will be checking for summaries for all the websites and that the notes are in the Cornell Note-taking Method.

Once students are done with their notes they will answer the Earth Movement questions.

HW - None

Tuesday - Students will continue to work on the Earth Movement project to finish up any part that they still need to finish.

HW - None

Wednesday - This class will not meet today due to our WASL testing schedule.

HW - None

Thursday - Students had time to work on their Earth Movement questions today.

We also spent some time talking about the upcoming field trip, info to come home soon, and I showed kids the last bunch of Earth Movement websites made by kids a few years ago.

HW - Finish any of the Earth Movement notes or questions that you did not finish in class.

Friday - We talked some more about the field trip and then I finished showing students the Earth Movement websites from a few years ago. We discussed what a good website looks like and how to get a high score on this project. I explained that the websites they create is their assessment for this project!

Finally, I shared some good samples of storyboards so that students could start planning their websites on Monday.

HW - Finish any of the Earth Movement notes or questions that you did not finish in class.

 

 

 

7/8 grade Latin Exploration:

Monday - Today we will have a quick review. Then we will finish the Roman Numerals Webquest. Students will also choose which webquest to start next.

HW - None, unless you still haven't turned in your blog permission slip.

Tuesday - I will have a sub today so students will work on their webquest.

HW - None

Wednesday - I will have a sub again today so students will continue to work on their webquest.

HW - None

Thursday - Today we will begin Lectio XXVII where we will learn a few verbs (sit, eat, recline and drink).

Students also spent time blogging. I am giving them class time to learn how to blog so we can use our class blog to give students time to process and be able to share what they are learning.

HW - None

Friday - Review day and finish Lectio XXVII.

HW - None
