Week 11, 6/6 to 6/10

(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

Daily Schedule
1st per - 7:45am to 8:37am
2nd per - 8:41am to 9:33am
3rd per - 9:37am to 10:29am
Eagle Time - 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - 11:36am to 12:28pm
5th per - 12:32pm to 1:24pm
6th per - 1:28pm to 2:20pm

6th grade Science:

Monday - Today 6th graders will finish their Lesson 6 blog and read each other's blogs to leave comments. Students are reading what other teams got to see if they all came to the same conclusions about friction.

Then 6th graders are either finishing their simple machines webquest and/or starting to work on an activity to review forces and energy!

HW - None

Tuesday - Today most everyone will be working on the simple machines webquest. Some still need to finish their Lesson 6 blog and/or reading and commenting.

(The track meet was postponed due to rain.)

HW - None

Wednesday - Today we are pretty much still doing the same thing as yesterday.

Today is also day 1 of the 6th grade Track and Field Meet.

HW - None

Thursday - Sixth graders are still working on the their simple machines webquest.

Today is the 2nd day of the 6th grade Track and Field Meet.

HW - None

Friday - Today students will complete as much of the simple machines webquest as possible so that we can start our final lab project on Lesson 7, the Force of a Motor.

Sixth period started planning their lesson 7 lab because they will have less time next week to complete the whole lab (see next week for details).

HW - None

 

8th grade Science:

Monday - Today 8th graders will finish their roach packet. Then we started to go over the answers to the packet.

HW - None

Tuesday - Today we will finish going over the answers to the roach packet. Once done students will be able to reflect on what they learned by writing about roaches and insects on their blogs. They also have an Odyssey blog assignment where they can reflect on their experience.

Tomorrow we will begin the a comparative animal dissection study of marine and terrestrial animals!

HW - None

Wednesday - Today will start our comparative animal study after we wrap up our insect study.

HW - None

Thursday - After reading some background information we will begin by looking at sea sponges and hydra under the digital microscopes. If we have time students will start by dissecting a freshwater mussel.

HW - None

Friday - Today we will continue the dissection of the freshwater mussel (5th per started while 2nd per will start it today). If we have time we will start the earthworm today.

HW - None
