Daily Schedule
1st per - Exploratory - 7:45am to 8:37am
1st Block (Periods 2 & 3) - Science and/or Social Studies - 8:41am to 10:29am
Eagle Time: 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - Band/Choir - 11:36am to 12:28pm
2nd Block (Periods 5 & 6) - Science and/or Social Studies - 12:32pm to 2:20pm

This Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we are going to have our morning classes (2/3 block) meet in our rooms for 1st and 2nd period only (until 9:33am), then we will meet with our afternoon block (5/6) during 3rd period (9:36am to 10:29am). In the afternoon (5th and 6th periods) all the 6th grade teachers will take their homeroom challenge course groups to complete the lawn activities that will prepare teams to enter Cispus's wonderful challenge course. Each homeroom has been divided into three challenge course teams, which will be their Cispus activity groups.

Thursday our schedule will be messed up again because our Principal, Mrs. Meissner will be giving the whole 6th grade a presentation on bullying and how to help stop it at our school. Mrs. Meissner gave homework but I'm not expecting it until after we get back from Cispus. I'll remind kids what the homework was on Monday, Sept 26. After Mrs. Meissner's presentation we came back to class and the kids got to meet and hang out with their high school counselors. Because of these extra activities, I did not see my afternoon class. Friday was a regular day!

Social Studies:

Monday - We will review the classroom procedures we practiced last week. Then we will complete a map activity #1.

Because we only met for one period today, we didn't get to map activity #1! We'll work on it on Wednesday.

HW - If you have not turned in your Cispus paperwork, please do so tomorrow. The map activities that we are working on in Social Studies are copyrighted and I didn't create them, so I will not have them available as links from my website.

Wednesday - We will work on map activity #1, then we will correct it together in class. Students will also get the chance to rate their social skills if we have time (this is why I block because we never get to everything in one period).

HW - None

Friday - Today we completed map activity #2 and corrected it together in class. We focused on taking turns and then students rated their social skills.

HW - Come at the regular time on Monday with your daypack ready to go to CAMP CISPUS!

Science:

Tuesday - We are going to learn a little more about Mt. Saint Helens today.

HW - None

Thursday - Today we will review our computer usage procedures (taking turns using the mouse and keyboard, letting the person who doesn't have the mouse and keyboard say where to go and where to click, logging in to the right class, using a desktop folder, and saving properly). Then we will continue to work on the Mt. Saint Helens activity.

Afterward, we will debrief by using our using social skills sheet and evaluate our performances as we focus on listening to each other.

HW - Bring your gear to school tomorrow if you don't want to carry it here Monday morning. Show your parents the Cispus checklist that was passed out today.

Exploratory - 1st period

Monday - We are going to finish the last few formal team introductions. Then we will go over my computer usage procedures.

I will also collect any and all handouts from last week (in case any students didn't get a chance to read them and get them signed at home). Here is a list of all the papers students need to get signed and turned in:

HW - None, unless you still need to get any of the above handouts signed and turned in still.

Tuesday - Today we have two introductions to hear (we've had some absent classmates). Then students will learn how to use Macromedia Flash. It's a great program and I think kids will have fun learning how to use it. We will begin with Lessons #1 and 2.

HW - None

Wednesday - Macromedia Flash lesson #2 continued.

HW - None

Thursday - Macromedia Flash lessons #1 and 2 as needed.

HW - None

Friday - Macromedia Flash lesson #2 continued.

HW - None
