Social Studies:

Monday - New seating arrangement today. Not that it matters today that much really because students are busy working on their Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest in their old webquest teams.

Today I will show students how to have Presentation Power and give them their Oral Presentation Rubric!

HW - Today I passed back all the EMM Science tests. Students are to take a blank, lined sheet of paper and staple it to the back of their tests. Students are to use that sheet of paper to write down any question they got wrong or scored low. They are to write down why they think they got it wrong and what they think the correct answer should be.

If your grades are low, you have major homework. If you need to work on any EMM lessons, you can only do that at lunch. I will only be available this week after school today and Thursday.

Wednesday - We will continue to work on the Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest. Today I will show students how to make their presentation notecards.

HW - If your grades are low, then yes, you have homework. Check your progress report to see what you need to do. Tomorrow is the deadline for missing work and for test corrections!!

Friday - Today I will be going to another science conference. The conference sounds great, it's on Using the GLEs and Project 2061 Resources to Understand Coherent Curriculum.

While I'm gone, students will work on a neat little webbyte I put together on Mesoamerica from the first peoples to the Spanish Conquest!

HW - None

Science:

Tuesday - Today I will start students on preparing their Water Quality notebooks. I purchased small notebooks for everyone so that we can all have the same notebooks for this experience. I will be collecting these notebooks everyday so that students will have them every time we have science. Student teams will choose their water quality jobs today as well.

Then we will learn and practice how to take notes from our science textbook in outline format using the SCAN-n-RUN reading strategy. We will begin to read Chapter 12 sections 1 and 3 of our Science Explorer Earth Science textbook to take the notes.

HW - Only if your grades aren't what you want. Then you better believe that you do have homework!

Thursday - Today is the last day to turn in any missing work, late work, or extra credit. If you turn it in next week or tomorrow, I may not get to it (I will try, but can't guarantee that I'll have time).

Today we will continue to learn and practice how to take notes from our science textbook in outline format using the SCAN-n-RUN reading strategy. I am teaching students how to use the SCAN-n-RUN strategy and how to take notes in outline format. We will begin to read Chapter 12 sections 1 and 3 of our Science Explorer Earth Science textbook to take the notes.

HW - None
