(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

Thursday, March 9, was the deadline for this trimester's missing work, make-up work, corrected tests, or extra credit work, so if any work comes in this week I will try to get it into the gradebook but I can't guarantee that I will get to it. I need this week to finish grading current work and getting grades inputted into the system for report cards. The trimester ends March 16 and there's no school on March 17 (it's our trimester break)!

Final grades progress reports were handed out to all students on Wednesday, March 15, along with the Panama Canal brochures (for their student-led conference portfolios).

Daily Schedule
1st per - Exploratory - 7:45am to 8:37am
1st Block (Periods 2 & 3) - Science and/or Social Studies - 8:41am to 10:29am
Eagle Time: 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - Band/Choir - 11:36am to 12:28pm
2nd Block (Periods 5 & 6) - Science and/or Social Studies - 12:32pm to 2:20pm

Social Studies:

Monday - This week students will need to finish their Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest PowerPoints.

Students were taught how to have Presentation Power (in other words, how to present) and I gave them their Oral Presentation Rubric so they can know how to score other's presentations. Finally, students also learned how to make their presentation notecards.

I'm not sure yet if we'll get time to finish our Mesoamerica from the first peoples to the Spanish Conquest this week.

HW - Learn your part of your PowerPoint presentation.

Wednesday - Final grades progress reports were handed out to all students today along with the Panama Canal brochures (for their student-led conference portfolios).

Students will keep working on their Aztec, Maya, and Inca WebQuest PowerPoints.

3rd period - Project Alert with guest presenter, Kelly Matlock.

HW - None

Friday - Trimester Break - No School!

HW - None

Future plans: Our goal for this week and next week is to get through our PowerPoint presentations. Once we are done with this activity, we can start our study of Canada!

Science:

Tuesday - We will continue to use our Water Quality notebooks as we continue to learn and practice how to take notes from our science textbook in outline format using the SCAN-n-RUN reading strategy. I am teaching students how to use the SCAN-n-RUN strategy and how to take notes in outline format. We will begin to read Chapter 12 sections 1 and 3 of our Science Explorer Earth Science textbook to take the notes.

Once teams learn how to take notes on their own, I will take individual teams and show them how to use their water quality equipment. I also have to see if the equipment is still working and how to use some of the new equipment I just bought this year!

HW - None

Thursday - Same as Tuesday, only by today I am hoping that teams can work on their notes on their own. I have shown them samples and we also took notes together, as a whole class, to learn how to take the notes in outline format.

HW - None

Future plans: This week and next students will continue to work on taking notes from the textbook on fresh water resources while I work with individual teams showing them how to use their water quality equipment.
